Restaurant Le Grain de Sable

Le Grain de Sable is open 7 days a week to hotel guests and outside customers alike. Discover a casual restaurant with a varied menu: salads, tartars, curries, mixed grills and burgers..

With its simple cuisine, friendly service and convivial atmosphere, Le Grain de Sable enjoys a privileged location on Avenue de Bourbon, facing the Hermitage beach. The restaurant is surrounded by a tropical garden, adding a touch of greenery and freshness. The cheerful, colorful decor provides guests with a pleasant setting in which to enjoy their meals.

We are committed to bringing you more sustainable food: we select locally produced foods to promote the circular economy and limit our environmental impact, and we take care to respect the seasonal nature of products.

Our bar offers local cocktails, beers, aperitifs and soft drinks.

• The Exsel Alamanda hotel, with its Creole architecture, has an undeniable charm with its white façade contrasting with the blue of the swimming pool and the green of its tropical garden. The Alamanda’s gardens are home to many of Reunion’s endemic tree species.

A little history…

Part of the Exsel Hotels family since 2009, the Alamanda has been open since 1985. The hotel has 70 rooms (38 doubles and 32 twins), a heated swimming pool during the austral winter, “Le Grain de Sable” restaurant, 1 bar and 3 seminar rooms.

Check-in

You can collect your room from 2pm.

Check-out

You must leave your room before 11am. You can leave your room until 4pm, service at an extra charge of €40 and subject to availability.

Swimming pool

Enjoy our heated swimming pool during the austral winter, from June to September.

The pool is open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm. Unsupervised pool.

Pool towels available on request, to be returned to reception before your departure (a €30 deposit will be automatically posted to your room, and an ID card will be kept until the towels are returned).

Glasses are not allowed around the pool. Consumption of outside drinks and meals is not permitted.

Transport & parking

Don’t hesitate to ask reception for car rental or transport contacts!

You can park in our secure outdoor parking lot (subject to availability). The gates close at 8pm. Please ring the intercom located on your left at the entrance.

Security

A first-aid kit and defibrillator are available at reception.

In-room water carafe

As part of our Exsel Nature CSR initiative, we are replacing plastic water bottles with glass carafes. Micro-filtered water fountains are available on every floor.

Change of sheets, towels and room cleaning

We propose two actions to limit our environmental impact. Help us preserve our island!

SuperGreen program:

Are you staying at our hotel for 2 nights or more? By dispensing with the cleaning service in your room, we’ll save water resources and reduce the amount of cleaning products we use. All you have to do is hang the door hanger provided in your room on your door handle. As a thank you, we’ll be pleased to offer you a surprise.

Towel change:

We change your towels only if you leave them in the shower. Your sheets are not changed every day, unless you request it.

Electricity supply

The hotel’s electrical supply is 220 V/50 Hz. Adapters are available at reception if you need them, please contact reception.

The power is cut off when you leave the room, thanks to the card system.

Air conditioning

You can adjust the temperature of your room using the air-conditioning remote control. If you need to, contact reception. Follow our ecogestures and help us protect the environment!

Reception products

We offer a range of eco-labelled hospitality products, because it’s good for you, and good for the environment! We buy them in bulk to reduce our plastic consumption.

Balcony

Don’t forget to lock the door on your way out (there’s no handle on the outside).

Safe

Your room is equipped with a safe. To use it: close the door and enter your secret code, then press # to confirm. Management declines all responsibility for valuables or cash left in the room.

Fire precautions

In the event of an acoustic signal, evacuate the room. Please follow the instructions on the back of your door to locate emergency exits and fire extinguishers. The assembly point is at the hotel entrance gate.
